crash//catapult//float

Crash/Catapult/Float is a piece of sci-fi visual theatre about the magnificence of our planet and all the things that have happened here. Combining physical performance, micro-cinema, object theatre, dance music and video, C/C/F explores themes of human connection, climate crisis, the post-anthropocene and the significance of art - observing it all through the lens of the human experience, contrasting the vast and the minuscule.

Crash/Catapult/Float exists on the boundaries between theatre, durational work and live art. A design and technology-led piece of live performance, with original composition, no words and strong visuals, C/C/F has been created for non-theatre spaces with a particular focus on galleries. Using multiple cameras, screens and an interactive set alongside the live performers, the human body onstage is another player equal to every other design element – an attempt to tell a different kind of story where the human aspect doesn’t take precedence over everything.

Crash/Catapult/Float was initially developed through a Creative Fund from Puppet Animation Scotland and with Creative Scotland support as part of our Myceliem Project. It was further developed at Nordland Visual Theatre in Stamsund as part of their residency programme and will premiere in 2025.
